Day 2
To get ready for tonight's recipe, I stopped by my local produce stand. Kim and Lynn agreed to get their picture taken with me as long as I promised to do my part to make them local celebrities. One mental pinky swear and $3 later I was armed with summer squash, zucchini, green beans (not for tonight, but they looked good), an onion and two chili peppers (also not for tonight). Not one ounce of buyer's remorse, although I knew if I stayed much longer I'd have to borrow their van.
This is my Amazon-like garden where the basil is coming out my ears. I am obviously not the straight lines kind of green thumb, but it's looking rather lush if I do say so myself. This year we tried a potted garden and it worked beautifully. If you don't have a garden, I recommend starting with a few basics like tomatoes, lettuce, peppers and a few herbs. It's easy and you'll be so glad to have some fresh ingredients available.
hey! Eric's mom has a garden and he always plants a few rows! I love it because she is always sending me broccoli and cucumber, and sweet corn!
ReplyDeleteThis chicken recipe looks great. and I bet you could freeze the chicken in the marinade for an easy freezer meal for a busy night to just let it thaw in the morning and throw it on the grill in the evening!
